Conversation archive

Turn conversations worth keeping into archives you can actually read.

Save chats from ChatGPT, Claude, QQ, and WeChat. Read them as bubbles, then share when you need to.

Memento archive UI: chat bubbles with names and avatars on a paper-colored background.

What Memento is for

Existing tools are a poor fit for keeping a whole conversation.

Notes and blogs flatten the layout

Paste a chat into a memo or blog and who said what, and in what order, collapses into one block. QQ and WeChat exports are even worse: a long wall of plain text.

Memento focuses on the conversation itself — avatars, names, bubbles — so it still reads like that chat.

Summaries rewrite what was said

Many tools only give you a recap. After the rewrite it is no longer those original lines, and details like code or tables are easy to lose.

The original text is saved first. AI summaries are optional extras you can generate after you configure a key and a provider.

You want to share it without your real name

A discussion is worth showing people, but you do not want the real nicknames and avatars going out with it.

Turn on privacy mode before you publish. Visitors see aliases and default avatars; you still see the originals when signed in.

Chats scatter and get buried

ChatGPT, Claude, QQ, and WeChat each keep a piece. Scroll twice and it is gone. Switch apps and you cannot take it with you.

Keep them in one place. Host it yourself, or pack a backup and walk away with it.

You may need a writing tool that records and organizes conversations.

Keep the original lines, lay them out as a conversation, then decide whether to send it. That is what Memento does.

Import

01

Import

Start a conversation and bring in plain text from AI, QQ, WeChat, and similar apps. Messages stay in the original order.

Edit

02

Edit

Change the title, add tags, generate a summary. Choose whether it is public, password-protected, or in privacy mode.

Share

Send a link and they can read the whole conversation. Turn on privacy mode first if you do not want real names shown.

What reading feels like

This is the part that is different.

  1. 01 Read as bubbles

Who said what, and in what order, is still there. Not flattened into a hard-to-read block of text.

  2. 02 Read from another seat

Switch roles and the layout follows. Your lines go right, theirs go left. Not a single word changes.

  3. 03 Share without names

Visitors only see aliases and default avatars. When you sign in, the original names are still there.

I want to reread the conclusion from that discussion. It is scattered across a few windows.
PS

PaulSam

I saved it in Memento. You read it as bubbles, not as a long note.

Can I drop the link in the group? There are real names in it.
